Incorporated in 1974, California District Attorneys Association is a legal association with more than 2,500 members, operating with a full-time staff, headquartered in Sacramento, Calif. The association serves as a source of legal education, and legislative advocacy for its membership, and provides a forum for the exchange of information in the criminal justice field. It also hosts an annual summer conference, Minimum Continuing Legal Education-accredited seminars, committee meetings, and social events for all prosecutors. The California District Attorneys Association sponsors more than 30 special interest committees comprised of prosecutor members. Its committees serve the association by defining current criminal issues, developing training priorities, drafting and analyzing legislation. The association also publishes various association and grant-funded publications, and participates in the state and federal legislative process. Through its specialized committees, it provides technical assistance to the legislature's policy committees, and lobbies the legislature on measures that impact public safety, and environmental and consumer protection.
