History
Burney Disposal, Inc. was established in 1977 by Tom Ghiorso, the son of a California farmer and the grandson of one of California's first traditional garbage men. Tom's Grandfather Giovanni started his garbage route in San Francisco in 1906, just days before the legendary earthquake that shook the city. He went on to serve San Francisco and Santa Clara. Two generations later, Tom started his business in partnership with his mother and father and later his wife, who has helped run the company alongside Tom since their marriage in September of 1981. Tom and Gwen and their youngest daughter Elizabeth continue to bring excellent customer service and a personal, family touch to garbage disposal in North Eastern Shasta County.
