Redwood City has 30 unique parks, ranging from small neighborhood parks that are only a quarter of an acre to larger multi-use parks that are 40 acres and including a dog park and a skate park. The Parks Recreation & Community Services Department manages all these parks to keep them in quality condition to serve the community. Additionally, Redwood City has two outdoor pools that are operated seasonally in the summer. The department recognizes that "Parks Make Life Better!", a campaign organized by the California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS), a nonprofit, professional and public interest organization.
