Brandt Farms harvests and packages tree-ripe fruit, including peaches, nectarines and plums. The hand-picked fruit is fertilized with compost, as opposed to chemical fertilizers, harvested close to its packaging facility in 25-pound containers. The fruit is packed in one-layer flats, then transported to retailers. The farm is third-party certified by PrimusLabs.com for Good Manufacturing Practices. Brandt Farms, in the San Joaquin Valley of Reedley, Calif., was established in 1941 by Jack Brandt who grew, packed and hauled his own nectar variety peaches to the San Francisco Market more than 60 years ago.
