Boys & Girls Clubs of Burbank is a nonprofit organization consisting of several clubhouses and after school enrichment sites. The club, based in Burbank, Calif., offers a range of after school programs to more than 600 children and disadvantaged youth, ages 6 through 18. It provides five-core program initiatives, including arts, sports and fitness, social skills, character and leadership development, and education and career development. The children receive tutoring, computer training, sports education, homework help and mentoring services. B&GC of Burbank also provides prevention programs for youth, including gang, alcohol, drug, tobacco, teen sex and unplanned pregnancies. Its programs and clubs include keystone and torch club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and peace builders, power hour, club tech, junior achievement, money matters, and image-makers photography club. The club s sporting and recreational activities include Nike swoosh club, basketball, soccer leagues, tennis clinics, chess club, triple play and jump rope challenges.
