DIX Metals was established in 1972 to supply raw materials, primarily aluminum, to customers in various machining industries. It was discovered that the company could service a niche that went largely untapped. Many precision machining applications require raw material to be squared up prior to finish machining. Five or six decades ago, to prepare metal for finish machining, fly cutting or face milling were the only methods available. Noting that computer numerically controlled and conventional machines were not designed to efficiently remove stock in order to achieve precise dimensional, flat, square and parallel planes, DIX Metals found a new specialty. The company specializes in the production of precision, machine-ready blanks. Other services include Blanchard grinding, aluminum plates, double-disc grinding, duplex mining, precision sawing, precision plate sawing, horizontal band sawing, vertical band sawing, flattening and surface improvements and water jet cutting.
