HistoryI am a third generation tile setter. I was raised in sand, as a kid I played with cut tile and create design, as time went I began the apprenticeship as a helper. At the age of 15, Walmarts was popping up all over the Bay Area. My family had won the bid so that whole summer I was helping to install floors, walls and outside deco in all the walmarts from Gilroy to Livermore. At the age of 23 I started work with Manada Tile out of San Jose California, where I worked in the union for ten years. I moved to Stockton California in2005 and went out on a venture to open my own tile store, Shu Tile. I had open a store in a time in history that America was about to experience one of it hardest economic crashes in history. The doors closed one year after open.. Work slow we just hung in there just like rest of us Americans. I believe a good job will lead to more jobs. Now we are regaining ground and moving forward.
