History
Passionately serving the Bay Area for 4 decades, Asian Neighborhood Design (AND) was founded in 1973 by a group of UC Berkeley architecture students determined to improve living conditions in San Francisco and Oakland Chinatowns. Our Employment Training Center (ETC) was established in 1978 and since then has successfully provided comprehensive green construction & solar job training +wraparound services to over 2600 low-income, at-risk youth and young adults from underserved neighborhoods. Today, AND has become a nationally recognized community development organization serving diverse populations. AND dedicated to reducing poverty, revitalizing communities and providing opportunities for low-income residents to become self-sufficient.
