History
Since 1999, the Archangel Michael Orthodox Bookstore has been run solely by a volunteer staff for the sake of offering religious education, classes, and Orthodox books, music, gifts, and other religious items to the community at large. From the day the doors first opened, it has been the vision of the members of this small Eastern Orthodox parish to provide access to a working chapel where people can come and pray or spend time reflecting in a quiet atmosphere with beautiful surroundings. In these times, when many churches are closed except on Sundays, a place of solace and hospitality is sorely needed. Many specialty bookstores and other small businesses have gone by the wayside in our communities, due to the much suffering economy and the mega-businesses and chains that have become so prevalent in our society today. In fact, it is only through our all-volunteer staff that we have survived these times. Most importantly, though, Christ Himself is the Author and Keeper of our lives.
