Antelope Valley College was founded in 1929 as a department of Antelope Valley Joint Union High School in Lancaster, Calif. The college has a more than 120-acre campus, offering various academic divisions, including arts and letters, business, computer and media arts, health sciences and physical education, social and behavioral science, and family and consumer education, and math and engineering. It offers athletic programs and activities, including football, cross country, soccer, baseball basketball, golf, track and tennis. Antelope Valley College also runs various campus organizations, such as the Alpha Iota Honors Society, hip-hop club, Latino club, psychology and speech clubs, animal welfare, and physics and engineering clubs.
