The Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation office on Bradshaw Road is a one-stop shop for pet owners. The new center, which opened in October 2009, includes animal adoptions, pet licensing, low-cost spaying and neutering services and low-cost rabies clinics. It's also the place for residents to file complaints about animal abuse and neglect, report lost or found pets and where animals are impounded or quarantined.
A small pet supply store, The Critter Outfitter, also sells leashes, treats, toys and other products. The store is operated by the shelter's nonprofit partner, Teaching Everyone That Animals Matter (TEAM). The Critter Outfitter can be reached at 916-361-2800.
The site also features a two free dog parks (one for larger dogs and one for smaller pups), which are open from 8am to dusk each day.
