History
I have nine years of experience as a therapist. In addition to having a private practice, I have experience working with at-risk youth and their families in my work for Seneca Family of Agencies. Under the auspices of Seneca, I worked for over five years at Berkeley High, working with teens struggling with a diverse set of issues and from a wide range of backgrounds. In my private practice, I have worked primarily with adults and couples (although I also love working with teens in this capacity) with issues ranging from crises of meaning and identity to recovering from trauma to revitalizing an intimate relationship. I have also worked with the Coming Home Project, serving veterans and their families as they return home following combat.
Specialties
I offer strengths-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families. My approach is warm, attuned and focused on your particular goals. When people come to therapy, I understand that they are bravely trying to work out their life or their relationships in a different way. I aim to help you hear yourself, be compassionately and fiercely honest and then figure out emotional processes or actual life shifts that allow you to feel more the way you want. I have advanced training working with mindfulness approaches and expressive arts interventions as well as extensive training in working with trauma, adolescents, families and couples.
