The Altadena Golf Course is a public, nine-hole course run by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. Originally part of a private club that was founded in 1910, the course was sold to the county in 1945 because of financial difficulties.
The slogan at Altadena Golf is "9 in half the time." The course's operators envision it as a good alternative for those who are pressed for time and cannot play a full 18 holes.
The facility offers a full-service golf shop, including club repair and professional golf instruction for all ages and levels of ability. Its practice facilities include a driving range with real grass tees year round, a chipping green, putting green and practice bunker. There is also a bar and grill located on the course.
