History
Husband and wife team Sachin Chopra and Shoshana Wolff opened All Spice as a platform for Chef Chopra's exploration of Californian cuisine. Informed by his encyclopedic knowledge of French and Indian cuisines, the early menus incorporated South Asian flavors in contemporary American dishes. Over time, the focus has broadened as Chef Chopra has studied flavors and techniques from around the world. You might find a swipe of Oaxacan mole amarillo on a plate of roasted cauliflower, or a South African inspired barbeque sauce nestling a slice of heritage yam. This is cooking without borders that takes advantage of California's bounty. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2013, a distinction it held for three years, and is working to win back. In 2016, we introduced a Chef's Tasting Menu, and our housemade bread program. The decor was refreshed in 2017, including the installation of a handmade moss wall. During COVID, we built an outdoor patio structure and expanded takeout.
