HistoryEmerge Art Center began in San Diego, CA as an arts program that brought a multitude of artistic genres to schools in southern California. Now housed in Berkeley, CA (and soon expanding to San Francisco), Emerge Art Center offers classes to the public. Currently operating inside of a sustainability center in Berkeley, Emerge will soon be building a home of their own in which all will be welcome to dabble, learn and explore creatively.SpecialtiesEmerge Art Center specializes in classes in all genres of art under one roof, for both adults and children. With our drop in and one-day classes there is no long term commitment required. We currently offer a series of classes that will help you explore your creative possibilities by moving from one art to another. This class includes photography, drawing/painting, dance, theater, creative writing and yoga. We offer this service for two age groups - adults only (ages16 and up) AND parent/child combo classes (ages 4 to 104). In our parent/child combo classes, you and your child (or niece, nephew, young friend, etc.) will have the opportunity to explore the arts together - moving from one art to another fluidly, learning about each creative element both collaboratively and on your own. In our adult-only classes, both the artistically inclined and stick-figure inclined will feel welcome, as everyone will be given space to explore and create with each medium in their own way.
