Alcoholics Anonymous is a loosely-knit not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping people recover from alcoholism. This branch runs a low-key operation out of an unmarked suite on the ground floor of a wood-and-brick building in Old Town.
AA runs rehab programs and get alcoholics in touch with other agencies that can help. Most of the people it helps come through referrals, though the office is open for walk-ins.
Though the organization is not a nonprofit organization, it has a business license and runs off donations taken in during meetings and drives.
