History
In 1975 DDSO (Developmental Disabilities Service Org) created the Alan Short Center to provide arts programming to adults with developmental disabilities. Our program was so successful that three years later Short Center Sacramento was created to provide the same services in Sacramento. These services expanded in 1992 to better meet the needs of more people, Short Center Sacramento was split into two separate programs (Short Center South and Short Center North). In 1999 the Alan Short Center split into two separate programs (Alan Short Center and Alan Short Community Access Program) . Both the Alan Short Center (ASC) and the Alan Short Community Access Program (ASCAP) are located in Stockton on the University Park Campus (95202). Short Center South is located on our Sutterville Campus (95822). Short Center North is located on our St. Marks Campus (95864).
