Alameda Family Services, formerly known as Xanthos, Inc., has been serving the community of Alameda, CA since 1969. Founded by Sue Matheson with just $500 and a few volunteers, the agency started as a teen hotline called The Love-In Switchboard and has since evolved into a comprehensive resource for individuals and families at all stages of life. With a mission to foster healing, resiliency, and growth, Alameda Family Services provides progressive and inclusive services, including school-based support, early childhood and family support, and community-based behavioral health care.
