The hot spot has reopened as the same dive bar that had been around since the 1930s, but with a makeover. The bar was made famous in 1983 when Mill Valley native Huey Lewis picked it as the cover photo of his platinum album "Sports." The local sports bar, which features standard amenities like large-screen TVs, jukeboxes and a pool table, has a storied history from its beginning as "The Brown Jug" in pre-prohibition times to Charlie Deal's famous toilet seat guitar hanging behind the bar. Locally known as "The Deuce," it is a bit of an anachronism in Mill Valley and one of the only bars of its kind in town.
