Founded in 1954 with financial and program support from the University of Arkansas, North Arkansas Symphony is an independent nonprofit organization. It works to provide a fully professional regional orchestra presenting high- quality music, education and programs to enrich the communities in Arkansas. The organization hosts musical performances for a population of more than 400,000 people. North Arkansas Symphony also offers educational outreach programs in Southeast Missouri and Eastern Oklahoma. It designs educational and family concerts to enhance the public school music curricula. The organization provides orchestra program for youths, as well as supports health and wellness programs. Its staff includes librarians, music directors, general managers and office assistants.
