Preferred Office Products was founded in 1968 by Joe Dickinson Sr., and was originally known as A. B. Dick Products Company of Fort Smith. The original company primarily sold spirit duplicators, mimeographs, printing presses and related supplies. Ever mindful of changing technology in the office environment, A. B. Dick Products Company formed a local partnership with Canon USA in 1981. Eight years later the name was changed to Preferred Office Products to reflect a commitment to providing businesses with quality lines of office equipment, office supplies, and furniture and expanded its operations by opening an additional office in Fayetteville to provide NWA with local sales and support. Today Joe Dickinson Jr. guides Preferred Office Products, a multi-million dollar operation providing state-of-the-art business systems to customers throughout Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma with the family tradition of delivering quality products and services.
