I became a doctor later in life. This is a second career for me, and it?s something that I look forward to doing for the rest of my life. I chose family medicine because you see a little bit of everything. I enjoy getting to see the entire spectrum of patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics and everything in between. We get to know patients and their family members as well. Oftentimes I care for the entire family. It?s great to embark on that journey with a patient throughout their life. I'm very upfront ? I don?t sugarcoat things. I?m not gruff, but I do involve patients in their own care. I give them options and let them make decisions along the way. It's not me just dictating to them. It's us coming to a mutual agreement as to how things will go. I like them to take responsibility for their health and know why we recommend what we do so that we can improve their health overall.
