Hendrix College, founded in 1876 and located in Conway, Ark., is a residential, undergraduate liberal arts college focusing on experiential learning. The college is a member of Project Pericles, an organization that promotes civic engagement among college students. It has also been affiliated with the United Methodist Church since 1884. Hendrix College offers a wide range of courses in several academic areas, including biology, chemistry, math, computer science, physics, foreign languages, philosophy, religion, and theater arts and dance. The college also offers courses in economics, business, education, history, kinesiology, psychology, sociology, anthropology, environmental studies, film studies, gender studies, and international relations and global studies. It also offers specialized scholar and lectureship programs. Hendrix College provides a range of facilities and student services, such as a library, scholarships, experiential learning programs, institutional research and athletic events.
