History
The Arkansas Justice Collective began working for immigrants and refugees in 2015. AJC Founder Stephen Coger began working with immigrant and refugee families in 2007. At that time, Stephen focused on helping survivors of violence at a pro bono legal services provider in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Stephen now continues the work as a AJC's director and lead immigration attorney in Springdale.
Specialties
Our legal representation of immigrant and refugee children is absolutely pro bono. We specialize in representing young people who have been abused, abandoned or neglected, and we strive to find them a path to citizenship and security. We provide direct legal representation for minors, whether or not they are in deportation proceedings. While we advocate for our clients, we also recognize that addressing the legal needs of immigrants and refugees will not address the needs of the whole person, and so we also provide referrals to various local organizations to help support young people's mental, physical, social, and emotional health in holistic ways.
