YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix is a nonprofit on a mission to strengthen communities by eliminating racism, empowering women, supporting seniors & standing for social justice. For over a century, YWCA has been known as a social justice organization working to create inclusion for all. Weve joined our sisterhood of over 200 associations in the U.S. in providing racial justice training, professional development, economic empowerment workshops, support to seniors, & more. We seek to lead with love & equity for all & attending our programs will leave you feeling empowered. For all of our programs/events we use a sliding scale. If you can't can't afford the full price, well meet you at a level you can afford. Go to our website today to learn more!Across the valley, we turn on our lights and open our doors to answer the cry for justice. We work on the full spectrum in order to bridge the gaps in our communities. Our women empowerment group, Leaders For Change, provides a supportive environment for personal and professional growth. Through workshops and networking events, we help women develop leadership skills and embrace their potential as change-makers. As a senior community center we help support senior independence and the dignity of aging in place. And ultimately, we are a nonprofit organization in Phoenix demanding a world of equity and human decency. Our overall goal is to help empower these groups in various ways while simultaneously helping educate those that are suppressing them. We strive to be a resource for those that need support & for those who want to join the movement and give their support. We go out and do the work to advocate for justice & equality, but we cant do this work alone. Whether you have time, talents, or treasures to contribute, there are many ways you can plug in to the YWCA community. We will get up and do the work until injustice is rooted out, until institutions are transformed, until the world sees women & people of color the way we do. Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable.
