Forty years later, Workshops for Youth and Families- A Program of notMYkid has not drifted from its mission to foster personal leadership and resiliency in youth and families through programs that inspire positive growth and change. Over the last 40 years, Workshops for Youth and Families- A Program of notMYkid has helped strengthen Arizona families through innovative educational programs presented to more than 30,000 young people. Workshop provides programs for approximately 1,200 youth each year, all aging from 9 to 19. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, nearly 75 percent of new participants live in the immediate area and are referred by local churches, schools, alumni, parents, and social service organizations. One reason why we are referred is for our effective peer to peer mentorship which is the foundation of our unique programs. This style of teaching works because teens tend to relate to and trust someone their age who is there to support and mentor them. Our entire staff help our participants strengthen their confidence.
