History
In 1973, a bunch of disregarded hippies gathered in Bill Thrall's home to learn about Jesus Christ's love for them. They discovered God's grace through studying the Bible. Over time, they established a name for their gathering. Having experienced so many closed doors from the conservative churches (rejected based on their hippy appearance) they decided to call it Open Door Fellowship Church: an open door to anyone who desired to know and worship the name of Jesus. Since then, the church has been shepherded by men like Bill Thrall, John Lynch and others and met in several buildings. Some have been since the beginning, and some have come along the way. Currently, Open Door Fellowship gathers at 8301 N 19th Ave. (SE corner of Butler & 19th Ave) in Phoenix, Arizona.
