Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA) supplies electricity, water, natural gas, wastewater treatment and solar power services to homes and businesses throughout the 26,000 square mile Navajo Nation and neighboring communities. It purchases electrical power from the Navajo Nation and transmits that power to homes throughout northeastern Arizona, northwestern New Mexico and southeastern Utah. The enterprise serves approximately 38,000 electric customers, 35,000 water, 13,000 waste water customers and 7,000 natural gas customers. As a non-profit enterprise, Navajo Tribal Utility Authority receives federal loans to extend electrical power to rural communities and also provides assistance to tribal agencies and tribal communities to obtain state and federal grants to help address utility needs.
