Love hiking? Make an effort to climb "A" Mountain, just a few blocks away from the Mill Avenue District. See the city from above, and partake in an Arizona State University tradition. Film buffs should try and catch a show at the Harkins Valley Art. Visitors that are hungry should stop by My Big Fat Greek Restaurant, it's a Tempe staple that provides patio side dining and plenty of tasty drink options.

There are a variety of shops along The Mill Avenue District, from local mainstays like The Hippie Gypsy and Lotions and Potions, to national retailers like Urban Outfitters, the area offers something for all shopping tastes and budget sizes. A majority of the stores do cater toward college students as ASU's main campus is right next door.
Food at The Mill Avenue District
The Mill Avenue District has something to satisfy all palettes. National chain options include Steak and Shake, Subway and P.F. Changs, but there are quicker options like Jack in the Box as well. Want some of the best pizza in all of Arizona? Make an effort to stop by Slices, they can't be beat.
Parking and Public Transportation at The Mill Avenue District
The light rail and Valley Metro bus system run directly to and from The Mill Avenue District. Parking is available on site, but is first come first serve and is metered. There are additional lots in the vicinity but most cost at least $5 to park. Visitors should be wary of parking in ASU owned lots, as they're notorious for towing.
Other places to visit near The Mill Avenue District
Tempe Town Lake is just north of The Mill Avenue District, giving visitors a taste of nature in the heart of the city. The Marquee Theater (one of Tempe's most popular venues) is also just north of the district and within walking distance for concert goers that want to have a drink or two.

If you're going to be in Tempe over Halloween you MUST visit The Mill Avenue District. An unofficial parade takes place, with trick-or-treaters and cosplayers from all over the valley making the trek to strut their stuff on Mill Avenue.
