History
For the first seven years of my career, I taught at universities. I have been a psychologist in Tucson since 1973. Before starting my current practice, I had been employed by Davis Monthan Hospital, by Palo Verde Mental Health Services, by Thomas Davis Medical Center, and, finally, by Catalina Behavioral Health Services. I have seen over 4000 patients. My practice is now limited to no more than 22 patients per week. Naturally, I don't treat people with every type of problem that some psychologists treat. I work only with adults. I do not do marital or family counseling. I also do not treat patients who are seeking help for PTSD, psychosis, dissociation, addictions, sexual problems, or violence. I greatly enjoy my work.
Specialties
I help adult patients who are experiencing one or more of the following conditions: anxiety, panic attacks, depression, bipolar disorder, severe difficulty with grief, very upsetting conditions at work that seem unchangeable, ongoing major problems with a spouse, anger management difficulties, and feeling overwhelmed. I will keep the focus on the specific problems you want help with. Although I will learn something about your earlier life experience, I will not ask you to focus on your earlier life rather than on your current problems. In some ways I am like a coach who provides expert guidance along with encouragement. I invite you to call me if your think it might help you to talk to me briefly before deciding about setting up an appointment.
