The Glendale Union High School District is comprised of nine high schools that are serving portions of the cities of Phoenix and Glendale, Ariz. The district also operates the Metrocenter Academy, which is an alternative school for students, between the ages of 17 and 21, who wish to return to school to obtain their high school diploma. The nearly 60-square-mile urban district has more than 300,000 constituents in the Phoenix metropolitan area. All its schools are accredited by the Arizona Department of Education and the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. Its curriculum and instruction department provides assistance to all schools and teachers about the course alignments, assessments and staff development. Glendale Union High School District also provides English language learner programs at all its schools.
