History
South Lawn Cemetery was opened in 1936, which makes it one of the oldest active cemeteries in Tucson, Arizona. At the time it was opened Tucson was just a small town, with a population of less than 50,000. Today, the city has grown and funeral homes, cemeteries and cremation services have always responded to the changing needs of the community. South Lawn Mortuary was built towards the end of 1979 and had its grand opening in February 1980, making it one of Tucson's first cemetery and mortuary combination facilities. Since that time, South Lawn has become an important part of the Tucson community. In 2007, South Lawn Mortuary became Funeraria Del Angel South Lawn to expand its footprint in the community.
