Located in Tucson, Ariz., Tucson Centers for Women and Children operates emergency shelters for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Founded in 1975, the organization provides emergency shelter, crisis intervention and referral services to women suffering from family violence. It receives financial assistance from the United Way, state behavioral health services and justice departments. Tucson Centers for Women and Children s child care center offers recreational and educational programs for more than 80 children up to the age of 12. The organization provides outreach and transitional and supportive housing programs.
