Located in Tucson, Ariz., the Division of Developmental Disabilities provides coordination and integration services. The division also offers individual protection services against abuse, neglect and exploitation. The Division of Developmental Disabilities advisory council is comprised of a group of volunteers appointed by the governor and its membership includes people with developmental disabilities, as well as advocates and representatives from state agencies. In addition, the council oversees and approves expenditures from the Client Services Trust Fund. The Division of Developmental Disabilities is a part of the Arizona Department of Economic Security, which was founded in 1972 and offers child care assistance, employment-related and medical care services.
