Desert Low Vision Services offers visually impaired individuals adaptive equipment, such as magnification systems, optical aids, daily living aids to continue to be independent at home, work, and school. Desert Low Vision is a bridge between Medical Eye care provided by ophthalmologists, and agencies that serve the blind and visually impaired. When regular eye glasses no longer help, many times specialty lenses and equipment can be of assistance.

Desert Low Vision Services is committed to elevating each low vision individual's ability to function independently. An important low vision evaluation can be scheduled for those individuals interested in focusing on their specific needs.Vision is the most complex of our senses; made up of acuity (sharpness of detail), color sense, the ability to see contrast, and the ability to locate objects in space. Loss of vision at any time can be a terrible disability. Our purpose as low vision specialists is to maximize remaining vision by making it function more effectively as well as emphasize the individuals role in their own rehabilitation. We reinforce the individuals responsibility to advocate for themselves and learn successful ways to achieve independence at home, work, or school. Desert Low Vision Services provides a non-threatening place for visually impaired individuals to go in order to take that next step in learning about their vision loss.
