CoreCrossFit opened its doors in Janurary 1st 2009 in a beautiful space in Downtown Phoenix. Started by owner and CrossFit trainer, Kim Flores and CrossFit coach, Emily Gullikson. In April 2009, Tom Colvin joined the team as Head Coach and Operations Director. Bryon Maxwell came onboard in 2010 as a senior coach and Director of CoreCrossFit's community outreach Kids@Core program. Our approach is based upon total wellbeing with programs for Strength Training, Nutrition, Work-life Balance and Life Coaching, Physical Therapy, Muscle & Joint Pain Solutions. Specialties
Research shows that high intensity, power-based exercises are very effective for burning calories in short periods of time while simultaneously improving aerobic fitness. Short, high-intensity workouts including non-traditional weightlifting equipment like kettlebells, tractor tires and medicine balls; gymnastics movements like pull-ups, ring dips, L-sits, muscle-ups and handstand push-ups; weight training that includes squats, cleans, snatches and deadlifts; aerobic and anaerobic training incorporating running, rowing, tire flips, and wall balls are the workouts athletes at CoreCrossFit engage in three to five times a week.
