The Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization (CYMPO) is a cooperative effort between Chino Valley, City of Prescott, Dewey-Humboldt, Prescott Valley, Yavapai County, and the Arizona Department of Transportation. Established in 2003, CYMPO's mission is to plan the transportation future of the Central Yavapai region, encompassing a 401.46 square mile area, to accommodate the growing needs of the community, including roads, highways, public transit, and pathways for bicycles and pedestrians.
CYMPO works towards this goal by conducting studies, developing programs, and organizing committees and meetings to ensure that the transportation system in the region aligns with the population growth. With a focus on safety and community input, CYMPO aims to create a multi-modal transportation system that caters to the diverse needs of the residents and supports the region's development.
