The Environmental Enforcement Section provides legal advices. The section prosecutes criminal activities and civil violations that are related to Arizona's environmental laws and serious industrial injuries. In addition, it represents various agencies for the fair enforcement of natural resources law. The Environmental Enforcement Section operates through civil, superfund programs, and air and tanks units. The civil unit advises, represents and litigates on the behalf of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) for several programs, including water quality and hazardous and solid waste management practices. The Environmental Enforcement Section is a part of the Public Advocacy Division, which is governed by the Office of the Arizona Attorney General.
