Established in 1984, Access Tucson is a nonprofit, membership-based organization that provides public access television management solutions for individuals and groups. It operates more than three cable channels and has a viewership of over 200,000 households throughout Tucson in Arizona, as well as serves Internet viewers worldwide. The organization features two television studios and specializes in the dubbing of videos from tapes and DVDs. It produces a range of programs on art, high school sports, cultural events, political debates, musical shows, religion, youth issues and democracy. The organization additionally broadcasts nearly 20 hours of live programs weekly. It provides production classes, equipment access, project consultations, and video editing and dubbing services. The organization also offers various production grants and class scholarships for individuals. Access Tucson is funded by private and corporate donations, as well as cable operators.
