Established in 1949, US General Services Administration consolidated the National Archives Establishment, the Federal Works Agency and its Public Buildings Administration, the Bureau of Federal Supply, the Office of Contract Settlement, and the War Assets Administration into one federal agency. The agency offers a wide range of services, such as environmental programs, real property disposal, child care, workplace innovation, facilities management, spatial data management, waste minimization, integrated pest management, fire protection and life safety among others.
