History
The business owner, Claudia Sihler, came from Germany to Alaska in 1999. As a teenager she already enjoyed being around dogs, and not having her own she walked dogs for other people. In the suburbs of Munich, the dogs were walked along busy streets to a nearby dog park, where they were always off-leash. Good obedience was vital to establish with all dogs, ranging from a Dachshund to German Shepherds and Rottweilers in size. Claudia went to college to become a veterinarian, and wrote her thesis for a doctor's degree about matching dogs in shelters to new owners, developing an easy-to-use temperament test for the dogs. When coming to Alaska, she decided to go back to her first choice for a profession, dog training. Instead of persuing a veterinary license for the U.S. she joined the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and in 2003 became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. In 2005 Claudia and her husband Frank opened The Regine Dog Training Facility in Wasilla. The daycare was added 2007.
