Medicaid is an entitlement program that is operated by the government of the city of Anchorage, Alaska. The program includes financial assistance and long-term care services for senior citizens, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals and families. It provides various medical benefits that have been provided to more than 70,000 people. Medicaid is administered by the Division of Health Care Services, which offers health care, case management and transportation services. The division also provides screening, diagnostic, health insurance and dental care services for individuals with visual impairments.
