History
Alaska Behavioral Health opened in 1975 as Anchorage Community Mental Health Services, Inc. The company also operated under the name South Central Counseling, ACMHS, and adopted the DBA Alaska Behavioral Health in 2020. We began as a treatment center for adults with severe mental illness and today we have expanded to provide services to all children and adults experiencing mental health challenges. We serve ~ 4000 Alaskans every year from our clinics in Anchorage & Fairbanks and via telehealth.
