University of West Alabama, founded in 1835, is a four-year public institution offering graduate and undergraduate degree programs to more than 4,000 students. It has various schools and colleges offering courses in music and dance, architecture and allied arts, business, education, journalism and communication, law, Clark honors college, arts and sciences. The amenities and services offered to the students include residential and dining facilities, financial aid, career counseling, health care, computer laboratories with Internet access, and transportation services. It provides various sports activities to students, including volleyball, softball, football, basketball, baseball, cross country, and rodeo and tennis.
