Founded in 1887, Troy University is is a public university with an enrollment of more than 29,000 students. Its courses are approved by the state of Alabama s Articulation and General Studies Committee. The university offers more than 100 undergraduate degree programs and over 15 graduate degree programs. Troy University s athletic program participates at the Division I level in several men s and women s sports, including baseball, football, basketball and volleyball. Its general studies program helps students in developing communication and critical thinking skills. The university also offers distance learning opportunities. With one of its campuses in Dothan, Ala., Troy University also serves students in Arizona, California, Texas, Florida, Tennessee and Washington.
