The South Central Alabama Development Commission, also known as SCADC, is a public agency that provides a range of aging and planning services. The agency offers various planning, economic and community development solutions. It assists local governments in preparing planning strategies, as well as securing and administering development grant funds. The South Central Alabama Development Commission serves Bullock, Butler, Crenshaw, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery and Pike counties in Alabama. Its Area Agency on Aging provides health screening, transportation, legal assistance and nutrition education services. The agency works in collaboration with the Alabama Association of Regional Councils. The South Central Alabama Development Commission maintains a finance department that manages accounts and payroll, travel and expense records.
