This is the mission statement that is embedded in the hearts and lives of the members, staff, and clergy here at Church Street. In 1852, William Rufus King laid out a city plan for Selma, which called for four major churches to be built on Church Street. Our Church is the only one still located on the original one-acre lot designated for their congregation, the corner of Church Street and Dallas Ave. We have a rich history here and it is inscribed through the beautiful stained glass windows, a baptismal fount that was given as a gift from the Jewish Temple, and many other symbols throughout the church. Church Street United Methodist Church is located at the intersection of Church Street and Dallas Avenue in historic downtown Selma, Alabama.
