Formerly known as Holy Name of Jesus Hospital, the Riverview Regional Medical Center is a 250-bed hospital that provides acute care services to individuals and families. Located in Gadsden, Ala., it performs specialized procedures related to cardiovascular problems, ophthalmology, podiatry, urology and orthopedics. Established in 1926, the hospital operates a wound care and hyperbaric center that specializes in treating patients with wounds, such as pressure ulcers and diabetic-related injuries. The Riverview Regional Medical Center also offers medical treatment to individuals who suffer from sleep disorders, as well as provides rehabilitative services to adults. In addition, it features a New Vision program that offers medical stabilization to people with drug-, alcohol- and addiction-related issues. The organization is owned and operated by Health Management Associates, which is headquartered in Naples, Fla.
