Assistance League of Birmingham Come see what all the excitement is about!! Assistance League of Birmingham has opened Encore, an upscale thrift shop. Ladies clothes and accessories, household items, rugs and art are all for sale at very low prices. Find your perfect treasure at Homewood's newest thrift store. Encore is located inside PrimeTime Treasures at 1755 Oxmoor Road. Hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 10: 00 am to 4: 30 pm. (The public is welcome to donate items from 10: 00 am- 12: 00 pm on Mondays; a tax receipt will be provided.) An all-volunteer membership will manage Encore to raise funds for the three philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Birmingham: PrimeTime Treasures, Operation School Bell and Operation Literacy. Assistance League of Birmingham is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, nonpolitical civic organization dedicated to service and philanthropic works. Assistance League of Birmingham continues on the local level the work started by National Assistance League, which was founded in Southern California in 1935. Assistance League of Birmingham was organized in 1976 and chartered in 1980. Assistance League of Birmingham serves the Birmingham area through programs operated by volunteers. Ninety percent of funds raised by Assistance League of Birmingham are used to support its philanthropic projects.
