Specialties
Pathways is empowering women and children on their path out of homelessness through hospitality, housing, and hope. The Pathways Day Center is open 365 days a year, offering meals, laundry, showers, clothes, hygiene products, case management, and educational programs to any homeless woman or child. Pathways also operates two overnight shelter programs, Safe Haven and Stepping Stones.
History
In 1985, Birmingham Partnership to Assist the Homeless (PATH) was formed in response to the growing number of homeless women and children in the Birmingham area. In 2003, Birmingham PATH merged with a similar organization, Bread and Roses Hospitality, to form Pathways. Today, Pathways is proud to be a United Way Agency and the oldest continuously-operating day center for homeless women and children in Birmingham.
